Míc writes article

Articles About AwardsWhen Website Awards founder, Don Chisholm, asked The Beeline's creator, Míc Miller, for a contribution, he didn't want money. Don wanted words. So, Míc said, "Sure, how much, er, how many?" What Míc ended up giving them was an article entitled In Search of Web Excellence.

Bee-ing found

Hit the Hive LogoIf there's one common complaint we Bees hear on the Net these days, it's not bee-ing found. It seems folks just aren't happy depending on search engines and global directories for traffic.

Small wonder when competing against the world and spending lots of money to improve (or maintain) rankings are an ongoing (and increasing) cost.

Sorry to say, it's only going to get worse. Let's face it, no one can list or index every Web site. Yahoo! started losing the "load" at the end of 1996. And, Alta Vista has dropped tens of thousands of listings.

Search engines are now indexing only a small fraction of today's Web content. Soon, the vast majority of small business and personal Web sites won't even bee able to get listed -- not without paying lots of money.

So, what can you do now that site promotion rivals content as the key factor for Web success? After all, it doesn't matter how great your Web site is if it's ignored.

When it comes to bee-ing found, the trick is to get listed anywhere and everywhere you can -- in local Web directories, on regional search engines, on winners' lists, and with banner ads.

Míc Miller saw this coming and started working on a solution in 1994. He knew there would come a day when local directories would bee needed. Well, guess what? That day has arrived!

As the publisher of this area's premiere Web directory, we can help you bee found. Plus, The Beeline's award-winning content, search engine rankings, link popularity, and awards program attract readers from around the world. For more info, call or write us.
